Prabowo Welcomes Belarusian President at Merdeka Palace
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, welcomed the state visit of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexandr Lukashenko, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday.
President Lukashenko’s motorcade entered the grounds of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, at approximately 11:23 WIB. The President was escorted by 17 motorcyclists and 80 cavalry troops from the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres).
President Lukashenko’s arrival was marked by the Enggang dance from East Kalimantan. President Prabowo personally greeted President Lukashenko upon his arrival from his vehicle.
The two Heads of State then shook hands and exchanged greetings, followed by the playing of both national anthems. Subsequently, President Prabowo conducted an inspection of the honour guard alongside President Lukashenko.
Following the ceremony, President Prabowo introduced several members of the Red and White Cabinet, including the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto; the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia; the Minister of Defence, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin; and the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, Rosan Roeslani.
Also in attendance were the Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman; the Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sugiono; the Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi; and the Cabinet Secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya.
A key objective of President Lukashenko’s state visit is the launch of the ‘Road Map for Bilateral Cooperation 2026–2030’, which serves as a framework for strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation. This roadmap will act as a reference for enhancing collaboration across various sectors, including economy, agriculture, food security, culture, science, and technology.
Belarus is an important partner for Indonesia within the Eurasian region and is a key member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Indonesia and the EAEU signed a Free Trade Agreement (Indonesia–EAEU FTA) in December 2025.
