Prabowo Welcomed by Residents During Eid Prayer in Aceh Tamiang

Jakarta, VIVA – The moment of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah for Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was spent together with the local community. Aceh Tamiang served as the location for the Eid prayer on Saturday, 21 March 2026.

Prabowo’s arrival at Masjid Darussalam was immediately met with enthusiasm from residents who had filled the area since morning. The congregation not only occupied the interior of the mosque but also overflowed into the courtyard, amid the continuous echoes of takbir chants.

Prabowo arrived around 06:47 WIB. He was accompanied by several officials, including Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf, Interior Minister Tito Karnavian, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Behind his presence, Prabowo had actually begun his journey since dawn. He departed for TNI AU Base Lanud Soewondo at 05:47 WIB, wearing a white koko shirt paired with a black peci.

It did not take long; five minutes later at exactly 05:52 WIB, Prabowo took off by helicopter to Aceh Tamiang to join the Eid prayer with the local community.

Previously reported, President Prabowo Subianto was scheduled to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, on Saturday, 21 March 2026. The President was previously in Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday, for the takbiran night with the community.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo would perform Eid prayers at a location near the residences occupied by evacuees affected by the disaster.

The President’s presence in Aceh Tamiang during the Eid al-Fitr momentum also served to check the post-flood disaster handling in the area.

“There, there is already the Interior Minister, there is the Minister of Public Works. Then tomorrow (ed. today) progress will be reported, and he wants to check directly in Aceh how the developments are. In North Sumatra earlier at the airport, he already received reports from the Governor as well, on developments and so on,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday night.

On that occasion, President Prabowo also planned to distribute aid packages of basic necessities to the surrounding community.
