JAKARTA — President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed that Indonesia must not succumb to those who intend to plunder the people’s wealth.

“We must not lose to those who want to take the people’s wealth, transport it to another country, and keep the Indonesian nation and people in a state of weakness,” stated Prabowo.

He made these remarks whilst attending the Nuzulul Qur’an 1447 Hijriah commemoration event titled ‘Realising the Qur’an as a Mercy to All Worlds’ at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on the evening of Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

“Indeed, we must eliminate corruption, embezzlement, and all improper and wrongful practices that are prohibited by all religions,” Prabowo said.

“No nation can succeed when its government is unable to cleanse itself of corruption. This is a teaching of religion and history,” he added.

He further emphasised that the government will not be defeated by corrupt officials who steal the people’s wealth.

Meanwhile, Prabowo called upon religious leaders for their support and prayers to enable the government to uphold truth and justice for all Indonesians.

“I ask for continued prayers and support. We will carry out and uphold truth and justice,” the President stated.
