JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has emphasised that Integrated Waste Processing Facilities with Environmental and Educational Insights (TPST BLE) will be developed and become a national priority programme.

Prabowo stated that waste processing has now become a national priority, targeting the handling of all waste in Indonesia within the next 2 to 3 years.

“Yes, we will develop all of them. Waste, waste processing, is now a national priority. In 2 to 3 years, we must control all waste in Indonesia,” Prabowo said while inspecting the TPST BLE in Banyumas Regency, Central Java, on Tuesday (28/4/2026).

Based on a report from the Governor of Central Java Ahmad Luthfi, at least 13 regencies in the region are also developing similar models.

“So this will be promoted by the central government, and I will allocate direct assistance to develop, improve, expand, and make it more effective,” Prabowo said.

He also expressed optimism that the target can be achieved through strong cooperation between the central and regional governments.

“The regent’s promise for 2028, by the end of 2028 zero waste, yes,” Prabowo said.
