Prabowo Warns TNI-Polri Officers: Do Not Be Tempted by Corruption
President Prabowo Subianto has reminded 1,177 newly commissioned officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) to maintain their integrity. He firmly stated that officers must not abuse their positions, engage in corruption, or become involved with narcotics and gambling.
“Integrity is the honour of an officer. Never abuse your position. Never be tempted by corruption or misconduct. Never compromise with narcotics, gambling, or other legal violations,” Prabowo said while presiding over the TNI and Polri Officers’ Commissioning Ceremony (Praspa) for 2026 at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The President asserted that both institutions play a vital role in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty. He urged the officers not to place any interest above the interests of the nation. Officers must continuously develop themselves to face evolving threats and remain loyal to the Indonesian people.
Prabowo reminded the officers that they were born from the people and carry out their duties with state support that originates from the people.
