Prabowo Warns Indonesians to Prepare for Difficulties Caused by Middle East Conflict

JAKARTA — President Prabowo Subianto has stated that Indonesians must prepare themselves to face difficulties arising from the current conflict in the Middle East.

Prabowo made this statement whilst inaugurating the Bailey Bridge and Armco Bridge in Aceh on Monday, 9 March 2026.

“We shall not shelter behind existing systems. We face difficulties with the attitude that we want to overcome them. We must be brave in overcoming difficulties. We shall not hide difficulties; we shall not pretend that difficulties do not exist,” Prabowo said.

Furthermore, he expressed gratitude that Indonesia possesses considerable strength.

“We have great power. But I must also be honest with the entire population, and I will provide a comprehensive briefing to the entire Indonesian nation in the near future,” he added.

Prabowo reminded the audience that the entire world is experiencing turmoil as a result of the Middle East conflict.

“But today I feel proud that we, once again, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, wherein the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) is one of the main pillars, have demonstrated to all citizens that the TNI is a people’s army,” Prabowo concluded.
