Prabowo Warns: Be Careful, I Know Who's Funding the Protests!

President Prabowo Subianto has warned parties funding protest actions, stating he has already identified those providing the money. He made the remarks while attending the XVII National Farmers and Fishers Week (PENAS) peak event in Gorontalo Regency on Wednesday, 24 June 2026. “Be careful, I’m warning those people. I know who is paying for the protests, I know that,” Prabowo said in his speech. Prabowo revealed that the demonstrators were paid Rp200,000 to take action, and when questioned, they did not even understand the content or purpose of the protest. “But it’s okay, those who want to protest… when asked… the kids protesting (those who were paid) don’t understand. What are you protesting about… hmm… we were paid Rp200,000, like that,” he said. According to Prabowo, Indonesians should unite to support the government, much like football supporters who give full backing to their favourite club. “Brothers and sisters, if we feel… like in a match, we become supporters, right, we back one team. Come on, forward, forward, forward. Our country is competing against many other nations. This nation should be united,” Prabowo stated. If there are shortcomings, Prabowo said they can be corrected once the match is over. “If there are deficiencies, a teammate lacking, our team is playing… playing poorly, still support them. Later, once the match is finished, then we correct it. Don’t while they’re carrying the ball… shout ‘wrong, you idiot’… while playing in the middle of the field, jeer at them. Your own friend. Your own team. So it seems we are not proud of what our own nation has produced,” he concluded.
