Prabowo Vows to Establish 'Red and White' Cooperatives in Every Village

President Prabowo Subianto has committed to building Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives) across all regions of Indonesia. He is targeting the establishment of approximately 81,000 KDKMP to advance the economy at the village and sub-district level. Prabowo stated that he has received reports indicating 12,000 KDKMP have already been established to date, with around 1,000 of these already operational nationwide. “These cooperatives will eventually be in every village, in every region,” he said during his speech at the peak of the 79th National Cooperative Day commemoration at Indonesia Arena, Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday. Prabowo assured that his administration will not discriminate based on political affiliation in the regions. Even if an area is not led by a cadre of his party, Gerindra, he confirmed that the KDKMP will still be established there. “We do not look at whether the village belongs to Gerindra or not, we do not care whether Prabowo won in that district or not, that is not the issue,” he said. Prabowo declared that he is now the President of the Republic of Indonesia, signifying his commitment to the welfare of all Indonesian people. “I am now saying I am not the president of Gerindra. I am not the president of any particular group. I am the president of all Indonesian people,” he asserted.
