Prabowo Vows to Enforce Order Against Government Critics Using Intelligence Data

Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto believes there are numerous observers who dislike his government, a statement he made in response to a report from Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa during a full cabinet meeting.

In the cabinet session, Purbaya reported on economic conditions and the potential for global crude oil price increases as a result of conflicts in the Middle East.

“What we must note going forward is that we need to adjust to policy and global oil prices, but we must tell our people that we will certainly succeed in managing this because we have succeeded during this period,” Purbaya said in his report to Prabowo at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Concluding his report, Purbaya assured that Indonesia had no reason to fear and simultaneously refuted the narrative of various analysts circulating on social media claiming Indonesia would collapse.

“So we need not fear, Sir. Those analysts on TikTok and YouTube saying we are collapsing have never actually looked at the data, Sir. This is how the situation stands, Sir,” Purbaya said.

Responding to Purbaya’s report, Prabowo spoke of his assessment of observers who do not wish for his government to succeed.

“There are various kinds of observers, in my view, and some observers do not want their government to succeed for various reasons,” Prabowo said.

According to Prabowo, the attitude demonstrated by such observers is not patriotic. He assessed there are factors explaining why they behave this way.

“Perhaps because they feel they have lost, lack power, or have lost their livelihood, particularly thieves and corrupt officials, they naturally feel harmed by our government. We intend to enforce order,” Prabowo said.

Prabowo emphasised that he understands why certain parties behave in this manner. This understanding comes from intelligence reports and intelligence resources.

“I also have intelligence data, you see. Previously I was outside government, but now I am president, so I receive intelligence reports every day. Therefore I understand, I already know who is financing things. In due time we will enforce order on all of this,” Prabowo concluded.
