Prabowo Visits Victims of Bekasi Timur Train Accident at Bekasi City Hospital
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Prabowo Subianto visited the victims of the Long-Distance Train (KAJJ) and KRL Commuter Line accident who were being treated at Bekasi City Chasbullah Abdulmajid Hospital, on Tuesday morning (28/4/2026). The visit was conducted to directly assess the condition of the victims still undergoing treatment following the collision at Bekasi Timur Station. Prabowo arrived around 08:36 WIB in a white Maung vehicle with RI 1 plates. He was wearing a brown uniform and was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and several bodyguards. After shaking hands, Prabowo proceeded directly to the corridor of Building C and entered the treatment room where dozens of victims were being cared for. He did not provide any statements to journalists and continued with the visit inside the treatment room. Based on the data on the hospital’s information board, 52 injured victims were being treated at Bekasi City Hospital, while three other victims were declared deceased at the healthcare facility. However, hospital staff stated that the data was still provisional and would be updated as the evacuation process at the incident site continued. The area of the post at the front lobby of the hospital was filled with police officers and medical personnel bustling about to update victim data. Previously, the collision occurred between the Cikarang-bound KRL number PLB 5568A and the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek train on the Gambir–Surabaya Pasar Turi route around 20:52 WIB on Monday evening (27/4/2026). The incident site was at the platform of Bekasi Timur Station KM 28+920. The victims were evacuated to several healthcare facilities, including Bekasi City Hospital, Bella Bekasi Hospital, Primaya Hospital, Mitra Plumbon Cibitung Hospital, Bakti Kartini Hospital, Siloam Bekasi Timur Hospital, Hermina Hospital, and Mitra Keluarga Bekasi Timur and Barat Hospitals. Meanwhile, 240 passengers from the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek were reported to have survived.
