Prabowo Visits Temporary Housing for Aceh Flood Victims
President Prabowo Subianto visited temporary housing, or huntara, for victims of the Aceh flood disaster after performing Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayers. Prabowo performed the Eid prayer at Masjid Darussalam in Simpang Empat Village, Karang Baru Subdistrict, Aceh Tamiang Regency.
Based on the live broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel, the Gerindra Party Chairman attended the Eid prayer until 08:00 WIB. He wore a white koko shirt and a black peci cap. Prabowo left the prayer location after shaking hands with the Aceh community and distributing basic necessities.
Less than 2 kilometres from the mosque, the temporary housing visited by Prabowo already accommodates around 600 families. Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf, Interior Minister Tito Karnavian, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and several officials accompanied Prabowo’s visit.
Prabowo entered one of the temporary housing units and conversed with residents. He stayed at the location for about 30 minutes until 08:35 WIB.
This Eid al-Fitr, Prabowo conducted a safari in Sumatra. The day before Eid, on Friday, 20 March 2026, the head of state arrived in Medan City, North Sumatra, to perform the takbiran night. He then departed for Aceh on Saturday morning ahead of the Eid prayer.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that Prabowo would return to Jakarta on the first day of Eid. Prabowo will attend an open house or gelar griya at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta starting at 12:00 WIB. This gelar griya is open to the public. “Capacity for 5,000 people,” said Teddy.
