President Prabowo Subianto visited SMP Negeri 111 Jakarta Barat on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, to review the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) project. The visit was conducted to ensure that the programme, which is funded by the State Budget (APBN), is running effectively and providing benefits to students.

According to a press release from the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo entered several classrooms to directly observe the execution of the MBG programme. Inside the classrooms, students were seen eating the free meals provided through this flagship project. The Head of State even joined the students for lunch in one of the classrooms.

In another classroom, President Prabowo took the opportunity to converse with the students, asking for their feedback on the programme. The former Minister of Defence under the Joko Widodo administration also enquired about their future ambitions, prompting many students to raise their hands.

“Who wants to be a doctor? Who wants to be an engineer? Who wants to be a teacher? Who wants to be a football player?” Prabowo remarked on Tuesday, as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat statement. The interaction between Prabowo and the students of SMPN 111 Jakarta was filled with lighthearted moments, and the group even sang the ‘Hymne Guru’ together.

In addition to visiting SMPN 111 Jakarta, Prabowo Subianto also inspected a nutrition service unit (SPPG) kitchen in the Palmerah area, Jakarta, arriving at the location at 09:30 WIB. At the Palmerah SPPG, Prabowo was welcomed by the Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Dadan Hindayana, and the Head of the Palmerah SPPG. The visit aimed to ensure that the facilities, operational systems, and supporting supply chains for the distribution of the MBG programme are functioning according to established standards.
