Prabowo Visits Qatar Embassy, Expresses Condolences on Passing of Sheikh Hamad
President Prabowo Subianto visited the Qatari Embassy in Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon to offer his condolences on the passing of former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Prabowo arrived at the embassy at approximately 12:40 PM Western Indonesia Time and was received by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Qatari Ambassador to Indonesia Sultan bin Mubarak Saad Al-Dosari. The President proceeded to sign the condolence book, conveying a message of deep sympathy. “On behalf of the people and government of the Republic of Indonesia, I extend our deepest condolences on the passing of His Highness the Father Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. May Allah the Almighty grant him the highest place in His presence,” Prabowo wrote. The President’s presence underscored Indonesia’s respect for the late Sheikh Hamad and reflected the strong, long-standing friendship between Indonesia and Qatar. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani passed away on Sunday, 12 July, at the age of 74. He served as Emir of Qatar from 1995 to 2013 before being succeeded by his son, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
