President Prabowo Subianto inspected the kitchen of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) provider, known as the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG), in the Palmerah area, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 2 June 2026. According to a press release from the Presidential Secretariat, the Head of State arrived at the location at 09:30 WIB.

He was directly welcomed by the Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Dadan Hindayana, and the Head of the Palmerah SPPG. Prabowo’s visit aimed to ensure that the facilities, operational systems, and supporting supply chains for the distribution of the MBG programme are functioning according to established standards.

The President’s visit to the Palmerah SPPG began with an inspection of the greenhouse area, which serves as part of the supporting system for food ingredient provision. There, Prabowo received explanations regarding the management and utilisation of facilities designed to support the sustainability of food supplies for this flagship project, which is funded by the State Budget (APBN).

Following the greenhouse inspection, the former Minister of Defence under the Joko Widodo administration continued his review of the hydroponic and biofloc facilities. Both facilities serve as examples of an integrated approach to supporting high-quality food requirements.

Prabowo also inspected the main SPPG kitchen, which serves as the central food production hub. Before entering the kitchen area, the President donned personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards. According to photos released by the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo wore a hairnet, mask, and gloves.

Inside the kitchen, the Chairman of the Gerindra Party personally observed the MBG food processing stages, including raw material preparation, cooking processes, and the packaging of meals intended for distribution to beneficiaries.

This visit by President Prabowo is expected to ensure that the entire MBG implementation chain operates in an integrated manner, from food supply to meal presentation. “Through the support of various auxiliary facilities and good governance, the government hopes that this nutrition fulfilment programme can provide optimal benefits for improving the quality of Indonesia’s human resources,” the Presidential Secretariat statement read.
