President Prabowo Subianto met with relocated residents in the Senen area of Central Jakarta, who have now moved into new housing. The residents had previously lived for more than a decade beside the railway tracks at Senen Station.

The moment occurred after Prabowo finished his activities at the Merdeka Palace on Friday (28/8/2026).

“The evening visit was a tangible demonstration of the President’s promise to the relocated residents being kept. He did not only build new houses; the President also came directly to see how they were starting their lives in their new homes,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, as quoted from Instagram @sekretaris.kabinet on Monday (31/8/2026).

“The President’s presence was welcomed with great joy. Words of thanks, gratitude, and prayers were conveyed directly by residents to the President,” he added.

According to him, during the occasion Prabowo also took time to talk with residents and left an important message that the surrounding environment should be well maintained.

In a video uploaded by Cabinet Secretary Teddy, a number of residents could be seen repeatedly calling out to Prabowo while expressing their thanks. Many residents also said they were grateful for the opportunity to occupy new housing.
