Prabowo Urges Young Civil Servants to Reject Convoluted Bureaucracy

President Prabowo Subianto has urged Young Civil Servants (Pamong Praja Muda) to become public servants who work quickly, cleanly, and in the interests of the people. He also reminded them that services provided to the public must not be convoluted and must be efficient.

The Head of State made the remarks during a speech at the Inauguration Ceremony of the XXXIII IPDN Young Civil Servants of 2026 in West Java on Wednesday (29/7). “Our people do not need convoluted bureaucracy. Our people do not need leaders who do not work as well as possible. The people need, in fact the people demand, an apparatus that works honestly, with discipline, is clean, does not engage in corruption, is brave in making decisions, and is always present when the people need them,” he said.

Prabowo also stressed to the Young Civil Servants that the interests of the people must always be the priority. He further asserted that IPDN graduates now bear the responsibility of being public servants. “Now you are servants of the people. You must serve, protect, and look after the community, look after the Indonesian people as well as possible. The people demand a state apparatus that prioritises the interests of the people, not personal or group interests,” he said.

Prabowo also emphasised that the honour of a state apparatus is not determined by the position held. “The honour of a state apparatus is not measured by their position, but by how much benefit is felt by the people,” he concluded. President Prabowo Subianto is reportedly still dissatisfied with the simplification of government bureaucracy. The Head of State considers the current bureaucratic process to be still quite convoluted and in need of improvement.
