Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has advised 1,204 Young Civil Servants (Pamong Praja Muda) graduating from the Institute of Home Affairs Governance (IPDN) Class XXXIII to always love their homeland, uphold Pancasila, and consistently side with the people.

In his mandate during the inauguration of the Young Civil Servants at the IPDN Jatinangor Campus, Sumedang Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, President Prabowo reminded the young civil servants that they are public servants who must prioritise the interests of the people over personal or group interests.

"Always love our homeland, always love our people. You are the true children of the people. Be loyal to all our people, as if all the people are your parents," said President Prabowo, as monitored via the Presidential Secretariat broadcast in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Furthermore, the young civil servants were reminded to always uphold the 1945 Constitution as a mandate from the nation’s founders, born out of a long struggle against colonialism.

According to President Prabowo, every policy taken by state apparatus must be based on the interests of the community, especially the weakest groups who need state protection.

In his closing message, President Prabowo asked the IPDN graduates to work with sincerity and humility, and to uphold the good name of their parents, alma mater, and the nation.

"I also advise you, make your parents always proud of you. Make your alma mater proud. Most importantly, make the Indonesian people proud of their civil servants," he said.
