Prabowo Urges Technocrats to Defend the People: Do Not Enrich Other Nations

President Prabowo Subianto has urged technocrats, scientists, and professionals to dedicate their abilities to the interests of the nation and the people. According to him, this moment represents a golden opportunity to serve the public.

“Brothers and sisters, I appeal to you, I urge you, I urge you, summon from your hearts, summon from your hearts, your love for the nation and the people. Act for our nation and people. This is a golden opportunity, a golden opportunity,” said Prabowo during the groundbreaking for the Cilacap Industrial Area in Central Java on Wednesday (29/4/2026).

He stated that Indonesia has already recognised the potential of its wealth. Therefore, the main challenge now is the ability to manage that wealth optimally.

“We already understand our wealth. We already comprehend it. We have seen the data. Now it’s just a matter of whether we are capable of managing it,” he said.

Prabowo emphasised that expertise and intelligence must not be misused for practices that harm the state. Talents should not be used to enrich other nations.

“Now is the time for technocrats, now is the time for scientists, now is the time for engineers, for professors to become red-and-white professors, professors who defend the people, engineers for the nation and the people,” he said.

“Do not use your cleverness to deceive the people and the nation. Do not use your cleverness to cover up corruption and robbery. Do not use your cleverness to enrich other nations. We do not hate other nations,” he continued.

Furthermore, Prabowo expressed a firm stance towards those lacking national commitment. He invited those not aligned to refrain from joining the government he leads.

“We do not want our people to remain poor because our money is taken abroad. If you wish to do so, please, do not join the government I lead,” he said.

“Choose. Every person may choose. Choose to defend your people or choose to serve others. I will not tolerate those who are not patriotic. No matter how clever you are, if you do not defend your own nation, there is no place for you near me. Seek others,” added Prabowo.
