Prabowo Urges Smooth Eid Holiday Travel in 2026, Issues Directives to National Police Chief and Military Commander

President Prabowo Subianto chaired a Cabinet Plenary Session at the State Palace on Friday, 13 March 2026 to discuss preparations for the 2026 Eid holidays.

During the session, Prabowo requested that the TNI and Polri participate in securing the 2026 Eid mudik period whilst coordinating with relevant ministries.

“I also request the Military Commander and National Police Chief to deploy the assets and resources owned by the TNI and Polri to facilitate this mudik. The Navy and Army possibly have vessels that could be made available and coordinated with the Transportation Minister,” Prabowo said.

“I also believe the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia has assets and resources that could assist,” he added.

Additionally, he requested the Transportation Ministry to facilitate discounted airline tickets, railway fares, sea vessels and motorway tolls. He also emphasised that mudik services for the public must be maximised.

“I request the Transportation Minister to ensure that the discount price policy is implemented as well as possible, including discounts on airline tickets, train fares, sea vessels and tolls, and to ensure good service at every location,” he said.

He further instructed the Social Ministry to distribute food assistance to 35 million beneficiary families on time.

“Social Minister, ensure that additional food assistance for 35 million beneficiary families in deciles 1, 2, 3 and 4 runs smoothly. Also ensure that regular social assistance arrives on time. I also request all ministries and agencies to accelerate spending on government priority programmes for the public such as FLPP (Liquidity Facility for Housing Financing) and Stimulus Assistance for Self-Built Housing,” he concluded.
