Prabowo Urges Minister of Social Affairs to Distribute Food Assistance on Time
Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto has instructed Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf to ensure proper distribution of additional food assistance to 35 million beneficiary families and to guarantee that regular social assistance is distributed punctually to the community.
These directives were conveyed by Prabowo during a cabinet meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday, concerning the implementation of government assistance programmes for the public.
Prabowo emphasised that the additional food assistance is intended for beneficiary families in income deciles 1 through 4, namely the groups with the lowest to lower-middle welfare levels.
“Minister of Social Affairs, ensure that the additional food assistance for 35 million beneficiary families in deciles 1, 2, 3, and 4 runs smoothly. Also ensure that regular social assistance can be distributed on time,” Prabowo stated.
According to the president, the punctuality of assistance distribution is crucial so that those in need can promptly benefit from government programmes, particularly amid the various economic challenges facing the nation.
Beyond ensuring social assistance operates optimally, the president has also instructed ministries and agencies to accelerate realisation of government priority spending programmes directly related to community welfare.
Several programmes highlighted include the housing finance programme through the Housing Finance Liquidity Facility (FLPP) and the Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance Programme (BSPS).
Prabowo believes that accelerating the implementation of these programmes is important to drive economic recovery whilst assisting the community in gaining access to basic necessities, including decent housing.
“I also ask the ministries and agencies to accelerate priority government spending for the community such as FLPP and Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance,” the president said.
