Prabowo urges courage to defend people on Pancasila Day

President Prabowo Subianto, during the Pancasila Day commemoration, urged all parties to courageously defend the people. He made this statement as he predicted groups aiming to weaken Indonesia.

“A great nation must be courageous; we must have the courage to make correct decisions even when difficult. We must defend our people and not pass on short-term ease at the expense of our children’s and grandchildren’s future,” Prabowo said in his speech at the Pancasila Building, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu), Jakarta, on Monday, 1 June 2026.

He acknowledged that major transformations and changes are not easy for the government to implement.

“Major transformations and changes are not easy; we will face obstacles, challenges, and possibly resistance from groups that enjoy corruption, smuggling, and illegal economic activities,” Prabowo said.

During the speech, he stated that the government has established a commodity export body, PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI).

Prabowo added that most profits from natural resource sales flow overseas.

“Therefore, the government has implemented a one-stop export system for natural resources,” Prabowo said.

“We must strengthen foreign exchange management from exports and ensure Indonesia’s wealth benefits all citizens to the greatest extent possible,” Prabowo said.
