Prabowo Urges Attention to Cleanliness in National Parks During Eid Holiday
President Prabowo Subianto has urged managers of tourist sites, particularly national parks (TN) and nature tourism parks (TWA), to pay close attention to cleanliness and security during the 2026 Eid holiday. “President Prabowo gave me instructions regarding information on available TN/TWA during the holiday period; there is demand from the public who want to visit TN-TWA during the Idul Fitri holiday,” said Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni, quoted from Kompas.com. These instructions were conveyed by President Prabowo during a virtual meeting with 57 national parks and 145 nature tourism parks. According to him, the government has observed an increase in public interest in nature tourism during holiday periods. Referring to Prabowo’s instructions, Raja Juli emphasised that the management of conservation areas must prioritise the zero waste principle. He also encouraged the provision of adequate waste bins and sufficient cleaning staff to maintain the environment around national parks and nature tourism parks. “President Prabowo also requested that the management of TN-TWA pay attention to zero waste, have waste bins, and sufficient personnel,” he stated. “Do not let there be casualties due to inadequate security facilities; prepare medical teams, ambulances, and adequate health centres,” said Raja Juli. Furthermore, Raja Juli reminded managers of national parks and nature tourism parks to control visitor numbers in line with the area’s carrying capacity and capacity. On the other hand, these national parks and nature tourism parks are also asked to ensure that the quota system operates optimally so that the tourist experience remains safe and comfortable. “Ensure that visitors to TN and TWA do not exceed the established quota, so as not to exceed the carrying capacity and capacity that causes overcrowding queues from tourists,” said Raja Juli.
