Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto stated that the administration led by him for almost two years has achieved various successes that are felt by the Indonesian nation and its people.

“We have proven to the Indonesian nation that we have achieved real successes, which are fortunate and beneficial for the nation and the people of Indonesia,” said Prabowo while delivering a speech at the thanksgiving reception for the 100th anniversary of Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Gontor, Ponorogo, East Java, on Saturday.

Prabowo stated that he now feels confident because the administration he leads has been running for almost two years since receiving the mandate from the people.

The President noted that these successes were achieved alongside the coalition supporting the government, as well as ministers and governors, whom he said have worked to assist the administration.

“I am confident because we have now proven that we are not leaders who are merely ‘omon-omon’ (all talk),” the President remarked.

According to Prabpon, he does not know the full details of every achievement made by the government because the primary focus during the administration has been to work rapidly.

“I myself do not quite understand exactly how much we have done for the Indonesian people. Because our focus is work, work, work. Working quickly,” he said.

Prabowo then mentioned several areas he believes the government has achieved, including food self-sufficiency and the availability of food reserves.

“Alhamdulillah, food self-sufficiency has been achieved. Our food reserves are sufficient,” he said.

He also stated that the government has anticipated adverse weather conditions, including El Niño and droughts.

In addition to food, Prabowo also touched upon the government’s efforts to achieve energy independence. The President stated that as of 1 July, Indonesia is no longer importing diesel from abroad.

“Our diesel is now self-sufficient,” he said.

This diesel, he noted, is produced from palm oil, which is considered to have many benefits and can be utilised for various needs.

Prabowo also announced plans to build thousands of fishing boats starting next year as part of the government’s efforts to manage Indonesia’s marine wealth.

“Starting next year, we will build thousands of fishing boats for our fishermen,” he said.

Prabowo stated that these various steps are part of his efforts to realise Indonesia’s independence, particularly in food and energy, so that Indonesia does not depend on other nations.

“We are grateful; we should be grateful to the Almighty, as we have been given extraordinary strength. It remains to be seen whether our leaders are reliable, capable, knowledgeable, and sincere; whether we can protect and manage all the wealth given to us by the Almighty,” Prabowo asked.
