Prabowo to Young People: Our Future is Bright, Those Who Say Indonesia is Dark Have Poor Vision

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto has informed young people that Indonesia’s future is bright. He assessed that certain parties claiming Indonesia is not bright might have poor vision. This message was delivered by Prabowo while explaining various government steps to transform fossil energy into renewable energy during the inauguration of the electric bus and truck vehicle factory of PT Vektor Sakti Industri (PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk) in Magelang, Central Java, on Thursday (9/4/2026). The Head of State stated that people who have closed their eyes and hearts will continue to see this country as dark, even though it is truly undergoing transformation. “What can we do to people whose hearts are not sincere, whose eyes are blurry, Indonesia is dark. (But) Indonesia is not dark, Indonesia is very, very bright, we are very strong, getting stronger,” said Prabowo. The former Minister of Defence stated that Indonesia’s economy is growing well. “Our growth is good, next year we will create a surprise for the whole world. Indonesia is rising. This giant is waking up, we will no longer be the sleeping giant, we are rising,” Prabowo remarked.
