President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to receive an official visit from Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday (3/8) afternoon. The meeting between the two heads of state forms part of Anutin’s official visit to Indonesia, which runs from 3 to 4 August 2026.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said an official welcoming ceremony would be held at the Merdeka Palace in the afternoon.

“This afternoon, Thai Prime Minister Anutin will arrive in Jakarta and be received by President Prabowo at the Merdeka Palace at 4.30pm Western Indonesia Time,” Teddy said in his statement.

Before arriving at the Merdeka Palace, Anutin and his delegation departed from Bangkok for Jakarta. According to a statement quoted from the Thai government website, the Prime Minister, who also serves as Thailand’s Interior Minister, was scheduled to depart at 12.30pm local time from Military Airport 2, Wing 6 (BN.6), Don Mueang District, Bangkok.

The delegation then flew to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta to begin the official visit to Indonesia from 3 to 4 August 2026.

This is Anutin Charnvirakul’s first state visit to Indonesia as Thai Prime Minister. Quoting from the Thai PRD website, Anutin is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow on the official visit.

During his visit to Indonesia, Anutin will co-chair the second Leaders’ Consultation with Prabowo to discuss follow-up measures on bilateral cooperation in various fields, including security, combating transnational crime, trade and investment, food and energy security, people-to-people relations, and regional cooperation within the ASEAN framework.

The two leaders will also announce the Roadmap on Strategic Partnership 2026-2030.

During the visit, Anutin is also scheduled to lead the opening of the Thailand-Indonesia Business Forum. He will also deliver a speech at the ASEAN Secretariat on the future of ASEAN.

Thailand and Indonesia announced the elevation of bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership during Prabowo’s official visit to Thailand in May 2025. The upgrade also marked the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
