Prabowo to Visit Belarus in Reciprocation of President Lukashenko's State Visit
President Prabowo Subianto has expressed his appreciation for the state visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Indonesia. Prabowo stated that he intends to reciprocate Lukashenko’s visit to Belarus.
“Your Excellency President Lukashenko, and the respected delegation, once again I wish to convey my appreciation and respect for Your Excellency’s second state visit to Indonesia. I will certainly reciprocate this visit,” said Prabowo during a joint press conference with Lukashenko at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (2/7/2026).
Prabowo believes this meeting will strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and Belarus. He expressed optimism that the established cooperation agreements will yield tangible results.
“I am also confident that this momentum will further strengthen the Indonesia-Belarus partnership and open wider opportunities for cooperation with real results that benefit the welfare and prosperity of both our peoples,” he added.
During this meeting, both nations officially launched the Road Map for Bilateral Cooperation 2026-2030, outlining a shared commitment to more directed bilateral engagement.
Prabowo detailed several areas of cooperation between Indonesia and Belarus. In the field of food security, both nations agreed to strengthen collaboration regarding fertilisers and agricultural machinery.
“In the field of food security, we are determined to continue increasing cooperation. Indonesia and Belarus possess complementary potentials to strengthen cooperation in modern agriculture, fertilisers, agricultural tools and technology, as well as heavy machinery,” he stated.
In the economic sector, both parties agreed to expand partnerships that support the national development agendas of both countries. Moving forward, cooperation will focus on industrial development, agricultural modernisation, strengthening supply chains, and technological cooperation.
Regarding trade, Prabowo expressed his appreciation for Belarus completing the ratification process for the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). “We are also currently undergoing the ratification process,” said Prabowo.
In the industrial sector, Indonesia and Belarus agreed to increase investment and cooperation between business actors from both nations, particularly in manufacturing, automotive, heavy vehicles, and agro-industry.
Cooperation was also established in the fields of socio-culture and human resource development, with both leaders agreeing to strengthen partnerships in education and vocational training.
