President Prabowo Subianto says he will use advanced technology to locate the wealth of corrupt individuals hidden in bunkers. Prabowo claims that current technology is highly sophisticated and can detect underground storage.

Prabowo made the claim during a speech at a plenary session of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. He began by expressing sadness at the prospect of officials involved in corruption.

However, the General Chairman of the Gerindra Party said corruption can now be uncovered more quickly because there is technology that can detect bunkers. ‘Now there is technology, there is radar we can use; we can see underground, so those who have hidden bunkers, we will find your wealth,’ Prabowo said at the MPR/DPR/DPD complex in Jakarta.

The technology, he said, is a defence innovation that can detect weapon storerooms in underground bunkers and even mines. Prabowo asserted that similar technology would be prepared for use to track bunkers belonging to corrupt individuals.

‘Starting now I will use the most advanced technology; defence technology can search for weapon storerooms underground, radar can now detect mines, and we will use it to locate bunkers of the corrupt,’ he stated.

Prabowo also noted that the technology is capable of detecting large tracts of land. ‘Those who own large plantations might think no one will check. Brother, there are satellites now; no need for physical checks — we can take photos of every tree,’ said the former defence minister.

With this technology, Prabowo is confident he can uncover assets hidden by corrupt individuals. ‘So however you try to deceive, we will catch your deceit,’ he added.

Prabowo attended this DPR plenary to present the macroeconomic framework and the key fiscal policy provisions (KEM-PPKF). He becomes the first president to present KEM-PPKF directly to Parliament.
