Prabowo to Take Responsibility if Any Citizens Go Hungry

Nganjuk, VIVA – President Prabowo Subianto affirmed that he will take responsibility if any citizens in Indonesia go hungry. This statement was made by Prabowo during the inauguration of 1,061 operational units of the Merah Putih Village Cooperatives in Nganjuk, East Java, on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

“I was sworn in, I am the one who will be responsible if this nation is hungry, I will take responsibility, no one else will be blamed, no one else will be held accountable. I am the one who is responsible,” said Prabowo.

The Head of State then stated that he had previously assigned the task of achieving food self-sufficiency to the Minister of Agriculture, Amran Sulaiman. Prabowo expressed pride that food self-sufficiency could be achieved faster than the stipulated time.

“I gave the task to the Minister of Agriculture and all his team, I asked for self-sufficiency within 4 years, they managed to achieve it in one year, ladies and gentlemen,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo then expressed his appreciation for the performance of Minister Amran, who was able to implement the food self-sufficiency program well.

“I am grateful, I don’t know how I was able to meet someone like Andi Amran Sulaiman. I didn’t know him, I met him by chance, I asked him two or three questions, and I realized, ‘ah, this is a good person, this is his way of thinking’,” he said.
