Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has stated that President Prabowo Subianto will soon sign a Presidential Decree regarding the appointment of a new Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus). Speaking at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday, Prasetyo said the decree is expected to be signed within one to two days following discussions by the Final Assessment Team. “We have also requested time for it to be discussed according to the mechanism within the Final Assessment Team, and God willing, within the next one to two days there will be a decision and the President will sign the decree appointing the new official,” he said. Prasetyo explained that Attorney General ST Burhanuddin submitted the proposed name for Jampidsus to the President last week after Febrie Adriansyah resigned from the position. In addition to the Jampidsus post, the decree also includes proposals for the appointment of several other officials within the Attorney General’s Office. However, Prasetyo declined to disclose the proposed names before the decree is signed. He previously confirmed that the head of the Attorney General’s Asset Recovery Agency, Kuntadi, is among the names proposed by the Attorney General to fill the Jampidsus position. Febrie Adriansyah resigned from his post as Jampidsus in the early hours of Saturday and was named a suspect in a corruption and money laundering case on the same day. The case is now being handled by the Attorney General’s Office after being transferred from the Police Corruption Eradication Corps.
