President Prabowo Subianto has stated that there is Rp 39 trillion in funds from unclear sources lying dormant in various bank accounts across Indonesia. Prabowo suspects that the money belongs to corruptors who have fled the country or died.

The Chairman of the Gerindra Party said that their money might still be stored in banks for a long time without being used. “The corruptors or criminals might have fled Indonesia or died, leaving their money in unclear accounts,” Prabowo said at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Wednesday, 13 May 2026.

Prabowo suspects that the Rp 39 trillion could be stored in accounts belonging to the young wives of corruptors. “Maybe he has many young wives or mistresses, so his wives or heirs do not know that he has money in those banks. It has not been managed for years,” he explained.

He stated that the state will now withdraw the dormant funds from those accounts. “If it has not been managed for years, and after we announce it for a year, announce it, announce it, and no one comes, then transfer it for the people,” said the former defence minister.

In the handover ceremony attended by Prabowo at the Attorney General’s Office today, the PKH Task Force has collected forestry administrative fines worth Rp 10,279,951,886,464. This amount was symbolically handed over by Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin to Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.

The ceremony then continued with the handover of phase seven forest area land covering 2,373,171.75 hectares, handed over from the Attorney General to the Finance Minister. This land is the result of the PKH Task Force’s enforcement in forest areas. The land was then symbolically handed over by Purbaya to the Head of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani and PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara.

The Attorney General claims that the pile of cash arranged in today’s event is proof of the results of law enforcement work and the return of state assets from the forestry and natural resources sectors.

“This pile of money in front is not just part of a ceremony, but real evidence of the PKH Task Force’s performance,” said Sanitiar Burhanuddin.

About a month ago, on 10 April 2026, Prabowo also witnessed the handover of Rp 11.4 trillion from the PKH Task Force to the state treasury at the Attorney General’s Office building. The money was displayed behind the podium where Prabowo gave his speech, just like the ceremony taking place in May.
