Prabowo to Receive Thai PM Anutin for State Visit This Afternoon

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to receive a state visit from Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at the Merdeka Palace in Central Jakarta on Monday, 3 August 2026. The visit is part of the Prime Minister’s official agenda in Indonesia from 3 to 4 August 2026. According to an official statement from the Kingdom of Thailand, the Prime Minister and his delegation departed from Bangkok’s Don Mueang Military Airport, Wing 6, at 12:30 pm local time, bound for Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta. PM Anutin is expected to arrive at the Merdeka Palace at approximately 3:30 pm Western Indonesia Time and will be welcomed directly by President Prabowo. During the bilateral meeting, the two leaders will discuss strengthening cooperation across various strategic sectors of mutual interest. Topics on the agenda include security cooperation, combating transnational crime, trade and investment, food and energy security, people-to-people relations, and strengthening ASEAN’s role in addressing regional challenges. The main agenda item is the announcement of the Indonesia–Thailand Strategic Partnership Roadmap 2026–2030, which will serve as the bilateral cooperation framework for the next five years. The document is expected to provide a foundation for enhanced collaboration in the economy, security, and regional development. In addition to meeting President Prabowo, PM Anutin is also scheduled to open the Thailand–Indonesia Business Forum, bringing together business actors from both nations to boost trade and investment. While in Jakarta, Anutin will also deliver a speech at the ASEAN Secretariat on the future of ASEAN, expected to highlight the direction of regional cooperation amidst global geopolitical and economic dynamics. This state visit marks a significant milestone in the 75-year diplomatic relationship between Indonesia and Thailand.
