Prabowo to Provide Incentives for One Million Electric Motorcycles

President Prabowo Subianto plans to significantly reduce fuel oil (BBM) subsidies. The approach is to launch a national electric motorcycle ecosystem.

“Fuel subsidies must be reduced significantly. To that end, the Government I lead yesterday launched the national electric motorcycle ecosystem,” Prabowo explained in his speech at the DPR Plenary Session for the Submission of the 2027 State Budget Bill at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Friday (14/8/2026).

In addition, Prabowo announced that incentives will be provided for one million electric motorcycles produced domestically by Indonesian entrepreneurs.

This policy has three simultaneous objectives: reducing vehicle costs for the public, reducing consumption of imported fuel, and growing the national electric motorcycle industry along with its supply chain for batteries, components, software, and after-sales services.

“This incentive is an investment to make the Indonesian people the first market for the works of Indonesian children. Every Indonesian-made electric motorcycle on the road represents three victories at once: savings for families, reduction of energy imports, and jobs for the nation’s children,” Prabowo stated.
