Prabowo to Provide Briefing for Ministers up to Echelon I Officials

President Prabowo Subianto gathered his cabinet at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, 8 April 2026. In this working meeting agenda, Prabowo invited ministers, deputy ministers, agency heads, and Echelon I officials.

Head of the Indonesian Government Public Communication Agency, Angga Raka Prabowo, stated that the event will take place on Wednesday afternoon at 14:00 WIB. “The President is gathering all ministries and agencies,” said Angga at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

Angga explained that Prabowo will provide directions to his subordinates in the upcoming meeting. “The President will certainly deliver a briefing on strategic matters. Regarding government policies, national policies, and situation updates,” he said.

Angga Raka stated that Prabowo deliberately invited all officials up to the Echelon I level. The reason is that Prabowo views ministries and agencies as unified entities supported by their personnel, from ministers to Echelon I and those below them. Therefore, said Angga, Prabowo feels it is important to speak directly with officials below the ministerial level.

Angga has not yet revealed the details of the topics that President Prabowo will address in this afternoon’s briefing. Angga only mentioned that the Gerindra Party Chairman will discuss strategic issues, including the latest geopolitical conditions.

A day before this Wednesday’s briefing agenda, Prabowo invited several ministers and agency heads to the Palace. On Tuesday, 7 April 2026, some officials seen attending included Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto; Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa; Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono; Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman; and Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto. Also present were Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) Dony Oskaria up to Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo.

Following the meeting on Tuesday, Coordinating Minister Airlangga revealed that he discussed the economic sector with Prabowo. According to Airlangga, the results of that meeting will be addressed in the grand working meeting with all ministers up to Echelon I on Wednesday. “Tomorrow, I am asked to present it,” said Airlangga after the Tuesday meeting.
