Prabowo to Professors and Others: Do Not Use Your Intelligence to Deceive the People!

President Prabowo Subianto has issued a warning to technocrats and professors to serve the nation and the people. Prabowo delivered this warning while attending the groundbreaking ceremony for 13 national downstreaming projects in phase II in Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday (29/4/2026). “Now is the time for technocrats, now is the time for scientists, engineers, professors, to become red-and-white professors, to become defenders of the people, to become engineers for the nation and the people,” he said. “Do not use your intelligence to deceive the people and the nation, do not use your intelligence to cover up corruption and robbery, do not use your intelligence to enrich other nations,” he continued. Prabowo also emphasised that he does not hate other nations. He simply does not want Indonesians to remain poor because their money is taken abroad. “If you wish to do so, please do, but do not join the government that I lead. Choose. Every person can choose. Defend your people or choose to serve others,” said Prabowo. “I will not tolerate those who are not patriotic. No matter how intelligent you are, if you do not defend your own nation, there is no place for you beside me. Seek others,” he added.
