Prabowo to PKH Task Force: Those Bandit Robbers Don't Like You
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto stated that many parties dislike the work of the Forest Area Control Task Force (Satgas PKH) because it is seen as disrupting illegal control of natural resources.
Prabowo made this statement while attending the handover of forest area control results at the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) building in Jakarta on Wednesday (13/5/2026).
“I understand that the PKH task force is not one that is currently liked; many do not like you—yes, those bandit robbers don’t like you,” said Prabowo.
He emphasised that task force members must choose to side with the people rather than the interests of certain groups.
“It’s up to you: are you afraid of them or do you defend the people? It depends on you,” he said.
“Four times I have been invited, on behalf of the people, brother, to hand over. Whereas this is just a fraction of the wealth that we have managed to save,” Prabowo remarked.
Prabowo assessed that the state wealth successfully saved by Satgas PKH so far is still only a small portion of the potential losses to the state due to illegal control of natural resources.
According to him, there are still hundreds to thousands of trillions of rupiah in state wealth that must be saved.
“The struggle is still tough; there are still hundreds of trillions, even thousands of trillions that we must save,” said Prabowo.
“Later there will be many questions about whether it can be done? The answer is not whether it can be done; the answer is that it must be done,” he stated.
Prabowo also refuted the notion that the government’s actions through Satgas PKH are merely to seek political popularity.
He described the control of forest areas as a matter of the Indonesian people’s survival.
“This is not a question of want or not want, not a matter of us seeking popularity—no. This is not the Prabowo government being populist; no,” he said.
According to Prabowo, the people’s welfare will not be achieved if the nation’s wealth continues to be taken illegally.
In addition, Satgas PKH also handed back forest areas totalling 2,373,171.75 hectares reclaimed from the palm oil plantation and mining sectors.
