Prabowo to Perform Eid Prayers in Aceh Tamiang While Checking Post-Flood Disaster Response
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, while also checking the post-flood disaster response in the region. “So tomorrow morning, we will all fly to Aceh, perform Eid prayers there with the people of Aceh in particular. Then, at the same time, check as well,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy in Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday. Teddy explained that President Prabowo will perform Eid prayers at a location near the shelters occupied by disaster-affected evacuees. Several ministers, including Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian and Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo, are already in Aceh Tamiang to later provide reports to President Prabowo on the latest developments in the post-flood disaster handling. On that occasion, President Prabowo will also distribute aid packages of basic necessities to the local community. It is known that President Prabowo spent the takbiran night in Medan, North Sumatra. Previously, the Head of State also spent New Year’s Eve in the same province, specifically in South Tapanuli. “So during New Year, as friends saw, Mr President spent New Year’s Eve in North Sumatra, together with the Governor, specifically in South Tapanuli. Then today, after three months, he wants to check again, and the takbiran night in North Sumatra,” said the Cabinet Secretary. President Prabowo arrived at 16:55 WIB, accompanied by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency Angga Raka Prabowo. Meanwhile, several officials who welcomed President Prabowo’s arrival included Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution, Bukit Barisan Regional Command Chief Major General TNI Hendy Antariksa, and North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Whisnu Hermawan.
