Prabowo to Pay Zakat and Commemorate Nuzulul Quran at Presidential Palace Tomorrow

The Indonesian government will hold a nationwide Nuzulul Quran (Quran Revelation) commemoration at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, 10 March 2026. The event is part of Ramadan activities and will be attended by religious leaders and Islamic organisations.

Abu Rokhmad, Director General of Islamic Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, stated that the Nuzulul Quran commemoration will be held in the evening at the palace.

“God willing, on Tuesday, 10 March 2026, a nationwide Nuzulul Quran commemoration will be held at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta,” said Abu Rokhmad at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Jakarta on Monday, 9 March 2026.

According to him, the event is scheduled to commence at 19:30 WIB (Western Indonesia Time) and will feature renowned Islamic scholar M. Quraish Shihab as the main speaker.

Furthermore, the event will be attended by the Vice President, ministers from the Red and White Cabinet, and invited guests from various ministries and coordinating agencies under the Ministry of Coordinator for Human Development and Culture (PMK), as well as Islamic organisations.

Abu Rokhmad noted that this commemoration will also be held simultaneously in mosques throughout Indonesia as part of Ramadan traditions. Additionally, the government plans to implement the Indonesia Berzakat programme at the Presidential Palace on the same day.

The programme is scheduled to begin at 14:00 WIB at the Presidential Palace and will be held simultaneously across provincial governments throughout Indonesia.

“At other locations, provincial governments across Indonesia will implement the same activities. This is a way to encourage all citizens to fulfil their zakat obligation through the example set by regional leaders,” he said.
