Prabowo to Meet King Abdullah II in Jordan Today

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to meet with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, today, Wednesday, 25 February 2026. According to the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo’s visit to Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, will discuss a number of issues, including strategic cooperation between the two countries. The meeting between Prabowo and the King of Jordan is expected to strengthen the partnership between the two countries in the fields of education, defence, agriculture, and regional issues in the Middle East. This year, 2026, marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Scroll down to continue reading Prabowo arrived at Marka Military Airport, Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, at approximately 8:00 pm local time. As the presidential aircraft entered Jordanian airspace, it was escorted by F-16 fighter jets from the Royal Jordanian Air Force. Upon arrival at Marka Military Airport, Prabowo was immediately greeted by the Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. This visit to Jordan is Prabowo’s second since he took office as President. Previously, when he arrived for a visit to Jordan on 13 April 2025, Prabowo was personally greeted by King Abdullah II at Marka Military Airport, Amman. Prabowo was even driven by Abdullah II to the hotel where he was staying. At that time, Prabowo stated that he had been friends with the King of Jordan, Abdullah II, for a long time. The two have known each other since they were young. It is known that King Abdullah II ascended to the throne as King of Jordan in 1999. Meanwhile, Prabowo was inaugurated as President on 20 October 2024. The King of Jordan and President Prabowo are both alumni of the US Army Ranger School at Fort Benning. They first met on 4 December 1995 at Prabowo’s inauguration as Commander of the Indonesian Army’s Special Forces (Kopassus). On 14-15 November 2025, King Abdullah II made a reciprocal visit to Indonesia. On Saturday, 15 November 2025, President Prabowo and King Abdullah II witnessed a demonstration of the collaborative drone capabilities of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Jordanian Armed Forces at the Djamsuri Air Force Shooting Range, Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta.
