Prabowo to Meet Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi on Tuesday
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto will attend a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi in Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday (31/3/2026). “It is planned that tomorrow he will conduct a bilateral visit with Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae to discuss matters that are more political in nature,” said Foreign Minister Sugiono in Tokyo, Japan, on Monday (30/3/2026), quoted from Kompas TV. Sugiono revealed that the meeting will discuss strategic cooperation in several areas. Most of that cooperation is economic cooperation to follow up on the agreements signed by the two countries on Monday. “I think most of the economic matters regarding what was signed earlier. In the energy and critical minerals sector, then tourism, maritime and security, and also education,” Sugiono said. In addition, the meeting between Prabowo and Takaichi will discuss conservation. Sugiono also did not rule out the possibility that the meeting will discuss the global geopolitical situation, namely the war between Iran and Israel.
