President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to depart from Bali for East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, to directly inspect the condition of displaced residents and the handling of earthquake impacts in several areas of NTT.
Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi, who is accompanying the President on his working visit to Bali and NTT, explained that the President will see first-hand the condition of the community and ensure that disaster management and the fulfilment of residents’ needs are proceeding well.
“This visit is also part of efforts to ensure coordination between the central government, regional governments, the TNI, the National Police, and all relevant elements is effective in handling the earthquake on Flores Island, NTT,” said State Secretary Prasetyo in Denpasar, Bali, when contacted from Jakarta on Wednesday, 26 August 2026.
Prasetyo continued that since the first day of the disaster, President Prabowo had directly ordered that aid distribution be carried out quickly, in a targeted manner, and evenly across all affected areas.
From 15 August 2026 to 24 August 2026, a total of 204.22 tonnes of basic food supplies, 27.71 tonnes of ready-to-eat meals, 10.29 tonnes of mineral water, as well as medicines, tents, blankets, mattresses, communication equipment, and two field hospital units have been distributed to disaster-affected areas on Flores Island, NTT.
“Health service support for affected communities is also being continuously strengthened through the deployment of various disaster response health facilities. The KRI Soeharso-990, belonging to the Indonesian Navy, has docked at Reo Port, Manggarai Regency, and is functioning as a field hospital, while the Ksatria Airlangga Hospital Ship is in Nangalirang Bay, East Manggarai Regency, to support public health services,” said Pras.
At the regional level, Pras continued that two field hospitals have also been operationalised, one at Ruteng Regional General Hospital in Manggarai Regency for operative services, where 29 surgical procedures have been performed cumulatively, and another at Aeramo Regional General Hospital in Nagekeo Regency to support emergency health services, surgical procedures, and care for earthquake victims.
Pras then emphasised that the handling of the NTT earthquake disaster impacts will not stop at the emergency response period.
“The government will ensure that the recovery process continues in stages, not only through the rehabilitation of affected facilities and services, but also reconstruction to rebuild infrastructure and community life in a better and more sustainable manner,” said Pras.
