Prabowo to Indian PM Narendra Modi: We Share a Vision for the Future

President Prabowo Subianto hosted a state luncheon to welcome Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the State Palace in Jakarta. During the occasion, Prabowo reaffirmed that Indonesia and India share a common vision for the future. The luncheon was held following their bilateral meeting on Tuesday (7/7/2026). The atmosphere was further enlivened by a presentation of the archipelago’s rich culinary heritage and Indonesian cultural performances that introduced the diversity of traditions to the Indian delegation. Prabowo and PM Modi also posed together for photographs with traditional dancers. The warm interaction between the two delegations reflected a shared commitment to continuously strengthening people-to-people ties. In his remarks, Prabowo expressed appreciation for the intensive and productive meeting between the two leaders. ‘We have achieved meaningful outcomes. We are determined to realise these commitments into tangible results that benefit both our nations,’ Prabowo said, as quoted by the Presidential Secretariat Bureau. Indonesia and India share historical bonds and a common identity that have been closely intertwined for centuries. According to Prabowo, Indonesia’s culture, history, and civilisational journey have also been enriched by the influence of Hindu culture and Indian civilisation. ‘History has brought our countries together. We share common values and a common vision for the future,’ he said.
