Prabowo to Indian PM Narendra Modi: We Share a Vision for the Future

President Prabowo Subianto hosted a state luncheon to welcome Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the State Palace, Jakarta. During the occasion, Prabowo reaffirmed that Indonesia and India share a common vision for the future.

The luncheon was held following a bilateral meeting between the two leaders on Tuesday (7/7/2026). The atmosphere of the luncheon was further enlivened by a display of Indonesian culinary richness and cultural art performances, introducing the diversity of Indonesian traditions to the Indian delegation.

Prabowo and PM Modi also posed for photographs with traditional dancers. The warmth of the interaction between the two delegations reflects a mutual commitment to continue strengthening people-to-people ties.

In his opening remarks, Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the meeting between the two leaders, which was described as intensive and productive.

“We have achieved meaningful milestones. We are determined to turn these commitments into tangible results that benefit both our nations,” said Prabowo, as quoted by the Presidential Secretariat Bureau.

Indonesia and India share historical bonds and a common identity that have been closely intertwined for centuries. According to Prabowo, Indonesia’s culture, history, and civilizational journey have been enriched by the influences of Hindu culture and Indian civilisation.

“History has brought our nations together. We possess shared values and the same vision for the future,” he stated.
