Prabowo to Inaugurate Nanik S Deyang as BGN Head Next Week

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has announced that President Prabowo Subianto will inaugurate Nanik S Deyang as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) next week. Speaking to journalists at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Thursday, 4 June 2026, Prasetyo said, ‘Regarding the inauguration, we have scheduled it for next week.’ President Prabowo Subianto had previously dismissed Dadan Hindayana as head of the agency, effective from Tuesday, 2 June 2026. The dismissal was announced earlier by Prasetyo Hadi, who also serves as Presidential Spokesperson, during a press conference on Tuesday evening. Dadan is being replaced by Nanik S. Deyang, who previously served as deputy head of the BGN. Concurrently, the President appointed Agustina Arumsari as a new deputy head, replacing Lodewijk Pusung, and Major General Trenggono as deputy head, replacing Sony Sonjaya. President Prabowo emphasised his commitment to maintaining the integrity and success of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG) by ensuring no room for deviation or breach of trust. He acknowledged that the decision to replace several officials entrusted with the programme was not easy. Prabowo recalled the advice of his late father, Prof. Sumitro Djojohadikusumo, who urged him to side with the people when facing doubt. The President explained that the decision was made after receiving various reports of shortcomings, irregularities, and indications of mismanagement, stressing that leadership quality determines an organisation’s success.
