Prabowo to Inaugurate Electric Vehicle Factory in Magelang Tomorrow

President Prabowo Subianto will inaugurate an electric vehicle factory in Magelang, Central Java. The inauguration is scheduled to take place tomorrow.

“So indeed, tomorrow the President has an agenda, a plan to inaugurate one of the factories that produces electric-based vehicles,” said the Minister for State Secretariat, Prasetyo Hadi, at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

Prasetyo stated that the government is continuing to intensify the energy transformation from fossil-based to new renewable energy.

“As you all know, we indeed must work hard to as soon as possible change our culture, change our way of working, and then we must shift from fossil-based energy to new renewable energies or EBT, one of which is electricity-based,” he said.

Prasetyo mentioned the heating geopolitical situation that affects world fuel prices. With that, he continued, the government is continuously maturing preparations towards the use of new renewable energy.

“We all know that with the development of international geopolitics, there is dynamics in fuel prices, and actually, it has already been and is being worked on by the government, preparations towards the direction of using new and renewable energy-based,” he said.
