Prabowo to Inaugurate Education-Related Institution Heads This Afternoon

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to inaugurate Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono as the new Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) this afternoon. In addition to Sudaryono, Prabowo will also inaugurate the head of an educational institution. “The inauguration (of the BGN Head) is planned for this afternoon at 15.00 WIB,” said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi during a press conference at the palace complex on Wednesday (22/7/2026). Pras stated that Prabowo will also inaugurate the head of the University of the Republic of Indonesia. He noted that two officials would be inaugurated this afternoon. “There is one official who will also be inaugurated this afternoon, namely the Head of the University of the Republic of Indonesia, which is part of what the President has conveyed on various occasions regarding our desire to strengthen institutions,” Pras said. “Especially our educational institutions to prepare future national leaders who will manage the government, both within the state civil apparatus and our state-owned enterprises,” he added. Pras previously explained the reason behind Prabowo’s appointment of Sudaryono as Head of BGN. One reason is that Sudaryono has been involved with the concept and ideas of the free nutritious meal programme from the beginning. Moreover, as Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Sudaryono’s duties intersect with BGN’s activities. “And as Deputy Minister of Agriculture, the National Nutrition Agency’s activities, which involve providing free nutritious meals, have never been separate from his duties at the Ministry of Agriculture,” he said. “Because the sources of raw materials and foodstuffs that become free nutritious meals for beneficiaries have been supported and form a single ecosystem by the Ministry of Agriculture, where Mr Sudaryono serves as Deputy Minister,” he continued. It is known that the previous BGN Head, Nanik S Deyang, resigned, stating that she wanted to focus on undergoing heart treatment.
