Prabowo to Inaugurate 895 'Red and White' Precision Bridges Today
President Prabowo Subianto will inaugurate 895 Merah Putih Presisi (Red and White Precision) bridges today. The inauguration will be held virtually, centred at Jalan Bayah-Cikotok, Kampung Bayah Satu, Bayah Barat Village, Bayah District, Lebak Regency, Banten, where a bridge connects Bayah Barat Village with Darmasari Village. During the event, Prabowo will also greet communities participating virtually from various regions.
Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that the Merah Putih Presisi Bridge programme is a form of the National Police’s duty to help address the basic infrastructure needs of the community, especially in rural areas that have long faced access limitations. To date, the police have independently built and revitalised 895 bridges across 30 regional police jurisdictions. These bridges, with a total length of 19.2 kilometres, connect 1,314 villages and benefit approximately two million people.
He added that the bridges help open access between villages, improve safety, and make it easier for residents to reach schools, health facilities, places of worship, and centres of economic activity. The government appreciates the Merah Putih Presisi Bridge programme as a form of mutual cooperation in development initiated by the National Police and carried out collaboratively with the Indonesian National Armed Forces, local governments, foundations, volunteers, technicians, and the community. The presence of safe and proper bridges is expected not only to strengthen regional connectivity but also to open up access to education, basic services, and community economic activities. The programme demonstrates that development can be carried out collaboratively to address the concrete needs of the community, especially in areas that have long faced access limitations.
