Prabowo to Hold Regular Quarterly Meetings with KADIN

The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Anindya Bakrie, stated that President Prabowo Subianto is willing to hold regular meetings with KADIN. These meetings will serve as a forum to discuss business developments and economic conditions, extending down to the regional levels.

Anindya noted that these routine meetings are expected to take place every three months, with discussions becoming more focused on specific sectors. “We are very grateful that the President has expressed his willingness to hold periodic meetings with KADI. We hope this can occur every three months and will be organised by sector to ensure a more focused approach and a better understanding of field conditions in the regions,” Anindya told reporters at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Friday, 31 July 2026.

During the meeting with President Prabowo, KADIN presented various inputs from regional businesses and national business associations. The issues discussed included foreign relations, artificial intelligence (AI), food security, the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme, and infrastructure.

Furthermore, representatives from the Indonesian National Construction Contractors Association (Gapensi) provided input regarding job opportunities for regional contractors amidst the current fiscal conditions. Other participants raised issues concerning Buton asphalt from Southeast Sulawesi, tobacco commodities from East Java, and the tourism sector.

Anindya added that KADIN views intensive communication between the government, regional KADIN branches, associations, and business unions as increasingly vital amidst global geopolitical and geo-economic dynamics that affect international trade, investment, and global supply chains. “In general, KADIN sees that while there are many challenges, we remain optimistic. We have chosen to increase communication, continue our efforts, and seek various breakthroughs on the ground,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chairman and Coordinator for Food Affairs of KADIN Indonesia, Mulyadi Jayabaya, stated that the President was open to the feedback provided by KADIN officials and regional representatives. He noted that the President received the views of the business community well and welcomed the proposal for regular dialogue with KADIN.
