Prabowo to Deliver State Address Today, Traffic Diversions Prepared Around Parliament
The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya has prepared situational traffic diversion schemes around the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, to anticipate congestion during the state address by President Prabowo Subianto on Friday (14/8).
Deputy Director of Traffic for Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Arif Fazlurrahman, urged the public to anticipate potential vehicle build-up in the area starting from the morning. ‘We appeal to road users to anticipate potential traffic congestion around the Senayan area. The President’s state address is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM local time until its conclusion,’ Arif said in Jakarta on Friday.
Arif explained that the implementation of traffic engineering and diversions around Senayan would be situational, depending on the volume of vehicles and dynamics on the ground. To maintain smooth mobility for residents, the police are asking road users to adjust their departure times and utilise alternative routes.
‘We ask road users to manage their travel time, make use of alternative routes, and most importantly, comply with the directions of our officers in the field for mutual security and smooth traffic flow,’ he said. He also stressed the importance of driving safety and adherence to applicable traffic regulations for all road users.
To assist the public in planning their journeys, Polda Metro Jaya is providing regular traffic condition updates through the official social media channels of the Traffic Directorate. Meanwhile, the Secretariat General of the MPR confirmed that all preparations for the 2026 MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD, held on Friday, have been carried out thoroughly, in a coordinated and optimal manner.
Deputy for Administration of the MPR Secretariat General, Heri Herawan, stated that this year’s annual session, held in conjunction with the 81st Independence Day commemoration, prioritises synergy and close collaboration among state institutions.
