Prabowo to deliver annual speech, present 2027 state budget draft
He is also scheduled to present the 2027 State Budget Draft and Annual Budget Speech at the parliament complex in Senayan, Jakarta.
These two agendas are a key part of the series of commemorations of the 81st Anniversary of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence.
“The morning session will take place from 8:30–10:47 a.m., followed by the presentation of the 2027 Draft State Budget and Annual Budget Speech from 1:30–4:07 p.m.,” State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi noted on Friday.
He conveyed that the Annual Speech was originally scheduled for August 16, a day before Indonesia’s Independence Day on August 17.
However, as August 16 falls on a Sunday this year, the address and presentation of the 2027 Draft State Budget will be held on the preceding working day, in accordance with regulations.
The morning session will be chaired by the Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), Ahmad Muzani, along with the Speaker of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin.
The session will be attended by MPR members, consisting of members of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD), as well as invited guests, including former Presidents and Vice Presidents and their spouses, heads of state institutions, ministers and equivalent officials, leaders of political parties, and ambassadors and representatives of friendly countries.
On this occasion, President Prabowo will deliver the annual state address and report on the performance of state institutions.
Meanwhile, the afternoon session will be chaired by the House Speaker Puan Maharani, with the agenda of presenting the 2027 State Budget Draft and Financial Note by President Prabowo as part of the state financial planning process.
In addition to the speech, the government will also broadcast a video highlighting the government’s performance achievements.
This annual session is a state event to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, with the theme “Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia”.
The president had arrived at the parliament complex, wearing a gray suit, at 08.08 a.m.
Prabowo got out of the Maung car made by PT Pindad (Persero) accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indrawijaya.
He was then welcomed by MPR Speaker Ahmad Muzani and DPD Speaker Sultan B. Najamudin. The three of them then walked down the hall towards the Kura-Kura Building, the location of the annual state agenda.
