Prabowo to Corruptors: The People Are Not Stupid!

President Prabowo Subianto has once again reminded corruptors to stop their evil practices of stealing the people’s money. Prabowo said the people are not stupid. This was conveyed in his speech at the peak of National Cooperatives Day, at Indonesia Arena, GBK, Sunday (12/7/2026). Prabowo initially touched on state-owned enterprises (BUMN) that will be disciplined because they have become nests of corruption. “We have consolidated more than a thousand BUMN into one, its value is USD 1 trillion, we are now perhaps the fifth or sixth largest sovereign wealth fund in the world,” said Prabowo. “So let us not always be pessimistic or have an inferiority complex. We must be humble, not inferior. And those BUMN will be disciplined. All this time, those BUMN have been sources of corruption,” he continued. It was at this moment that Prabowo warned the corruptors. Prabowo asked them to be self-aware and stop corrupt practices. “I am warning again, once again, for the umpteenth time I have spoken since long ago. Hey corruptors, be self-aware. Stop your practices, stop. The people are not stupid. Stop. Return the people’s wealth, return it properly,” Prabowo asserted. Prabowo said Indonesia is a forgiving nation. However, he continued, the people need justice and prosperity. “The people need good schools, teachers need good salaries, doctors and nurses need good salaries,” he said.
