Prabowo to build decent housing for residents along Senen railway tracks
President Prabowo Subianto has stated that he will build decent housing for residents living along the railway tracks in the Senen area of Central Jakarta, after personally inspecting the conditions of the settlements in the area on Thursday afternoon.
As seen in a video upload on President Prabowo’s personal Instagram account (@prabowo), during the inspection, Prabowo, accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, walked through the settlement area located about 3 kilometres from central Jakarta.
The President absorbed the aspirations of the local community and conveyed his commitment to promptly providing decent housing for residents in the area.
“Having heard the aspirations of the people there, God willing, we will soon build decent housing for the people in that area quickly,” said Prabowo.
The Head of State emphasised that he is determined to provide decent housing for the Indonesian people.
In the video, residents along the tracks appeared to welcome President Prabowo’s arrival with enthusiasm. The President was seen greeting the gathered community, fulfilling photo requests, and shaking hands.
During the moment, Prabowo asked the residents if they wanted the government to build them houses.
“If we build houses for you later, would you like that?” Prabowo asked.
The residents loudly and enthusiastically affirmed the President’s offer.
“Yes, Sir, yes,” the residents shouted.
On that occasion, the President also inquired about the residents’ activities, including those of the children.
“Are you going to school? Still in school?” Prabowo asked one of the children.
The inspection was conducted on foot, traversing the railway embankment while directly observing the living conditions of the residents.
